At the heart of the Holy Land
Beit Al Liqa’ is a Christian Community & Training Center and is located in the center of Beit Jala, a town just outside Bethlehem. The tall, four-storey building perched on the slope of a hill overlooking nearby Bethlehem is surrounded by extensive and verdant grounds – a pleasant park-like oasis that catches the eye from afar. Partly park, partly playground, our garden with its scattered tree-shaded seating areas beckons the visitor to stay a while, have a chat with friends or watch the world go by.
Beit Al Liqa' - A place to meet the living God
Your home away from home
Beit Al Liqa´ is a place of encounter for people from all over the world, a perfect spot to meet friends and mingle with the locals.
A large garden, a cozy cafeteria and a delightful terrace with a panoramic view of Bethlehem make our guest accommodation your home away from home in the Holy Land. And of course, free Wi-Fi is available, too. Our little guests are welcome to romp on our outdoor and PeaceArk indoor playground to their heart’s content.
Child Daycare Center
More than 80 toddlers and babies of various religious and social backgrounds are taken care of at our daycare center on five days a week. Every single one of them is unique and a gift temporarily entrusted to us. So we make individual care and support of each child our priority. The curriculum tailor-made to this age group ensures an excellent introduction to primary education and a grounding for the children to start school. We help them to develop their skills and abilities, to discover their gifts and nurture their personality.
Year round fun for the litte ones
Since March 2012 Beit Al Liqa‘ has been proud owner of an indoor playground, the so-called PeaceArk. It consists of a spacious play and climbing area as well as a dedicated toddlers’ corner. Parents and Beit Al Liqa’s overnight guests are welcome to while away the time over a latte, chatting with friends in the integrated café serving a range of scrumptious hot sandwich meals, crispy salads, delicious cakes and snacks. The PeaceArk makes for a perfect addition to the overall ministry. It is not only used during the cooler season as a meeting place for families, but also during the lengthy hot season as a refuge from the scorching sun. By now our indoor playground has made a name for itself beyond the Bethlehem region.
Digging deep & playing hard
Beit Al Liqa’s annual highlight is our three-week summer day camp during the long summer vacation. On average, 170 kids regularly flock to our premises to attend camp which is open from Monday through Friday. For many years our camps have revolved around specific themes. For instance, one year camp was all about Africa, another year we ‘traveled’ to China, …
Our monthly programs are aimed at children, teenagers, adolescents, women and couples. With mostly traditional Christians in attendance, the meetings are about nurturing fellowship, renewing contacts and studying the Word of God together. We encourage them to remember the fundamentals of their faith and to live their lives according to the Bible.
Meet usWhat we are about
Beit Al Liqa‘ would not be able to exist without its hard-working and committed staff team. Every single member is an invaluable asset to the Center’s ministry.
Beit Al Liqa’ (House of Encounter) seeks to be a place where God’s love is felt and seen. It is a place of fellowship with one another, but above all, it is a place to meet the living God …
It all began in 1996. Back then, Beit Al Liqa’ started off in rented rooms in the town of Beit Jala. What was originally planned as a Christian café, grew rapidly within just a couple of years and soon more space was needed. In 2000, we purchased a large property of around 3,000 square metres at the heart of the city. In October 2001, a time of political turmoil, we took a leap of faith and laid the foundation to a four-storey building …
